Him: Did you see that white cat?!
Me: No. Was it that old tom with half an ear that always looks like it’s going to kill somebody?
Him: No! It was, like, a White Cat white cat!
He was, of course referencing Holly Black’s book White Cat, which is one of my favorites. The cat was pretty and fluffy- no more explanation needed!
